Meaning and Purpose

Dr. Daniels is passionate about encouraging dialogue between the Christian faith and science as a way to give meaning and purpose to people’s lives, particularly urban African American youth who face the challenge of a significant loss of faith, as well as serious obstacles to entering the STEM fields (science, technology, engineering and math).

Growing atheism means that faith is seen as mystical and magical, and has no real application in modern life. At the same time, since urban youth are considered at a disadvantage when it comes to the STEM fields, they at times grow up lacking either the mental/emotional (faith) or the logical (scientific) understanding of life, or their purpose in life.

Community Support

Because of these issues, Dr. Daniels wants to open up the dialogue between faith and science, as a way to provide community support for urban youth and adults whose lives lack meaning and purpose.

Positive Steps Forward

His intention is to prove that there doesn’t have to be a gap between faith and science. One can have a preferred way to seek understanding, but the two aren’t mutually exclusive; and together, they can foster a greater understanding of life, greater compassion, and positive steps forward.
