Dr. Kevin Daniels

Due to the nature of the God – beyond human understanding – none of us are privy to the answers, but Dr. Daniels believe that critical thinking helps us release ourselves from the bondage of strict dogma, and help us come to our own deeper individual understanding of God, so that we may rise to our highest potential and transform our world.

Questions that can help bridge the gap between faith and science include:

  • How do scientific discoveries support religious teachings?
  • How did we form our modern scientific views of the world?
  • How real is the world we perceive?
  • Do things happen by chance or by divine order?
  • Do scientific findings help us understand the real meaning of the Bible?
  • What is life? What is death?
  • What is consciousness? What is oneness? Why do we feel separate from one another when in reality we are one?
  • How did we come to be?
  • How does matter (visible) originate from no-thing (the invisible)?
  • What is the origin of the universe?
  • Can science prove God's existence (or nonexistence)?
  • How does quantum theory help prove the existence of God?

Science Helps Us Understand

Many young people are leaving the Church today because they see an insurmountable gap between faith and science. Many believe that religion contradicts science, and that religion is nothing but mysticism and dogma meant to control people.

However, Dr. Daniels, believes that science actually helps us understand God better, and that it validates scripture.

Faith and Science Belong Together

While most clergy are not trained scientists, they are not limited in their ability to do good in the world; and while most scientists are not clergy, they are not using reason and the scientific method to actively disprove the existence of God, but rather to develop a more thorough understanding of God, the universe, life, and what it means to be a human being.

In actively seeking to understand the truth and work for the common good, particularly in the urban community, we can see that faith and science belong together.
